Healing Alignment™ is an approach to wellness and good health that is based on the premise that all aspects of your life are contributing to your health, or dis-ease, both physical and emotional. Optimally, when your external environment, your internal cellular functionality and your body's regenerative capabilities are all working in harmony, the result is health and wellness. Healing Alignment™ empowers the greatest healer of all—you—by aligning your external environment and your mind body through physical changes in your home, the release of past emotional triggers and activating the body's regenerative process with guided imagery. It is a powerful complementary therapy and is meant to be used in conjunction with the psychological and medical services of your choice to help address the emotional trauma and the physical manifestation of illness in your body. Expanding our approaches to heal increases our ability to transform illness to health. Listen to your intuition to make the choices that resonate with your healing spirit.

Using Feng Shui for Optimal Health
All over the globe people have acknowledged and venerated their homes, treating them with love and respect. Our home, above all, nourishes our soul and body. We can swiftly learn the steps to creating a true home: how to cleanse not just the physical fabric of the house, but its spiritual energy too; how to sense and alter atmosphere; how to intuit what your home needs and what it doesn't want at all; how to bring in the natural world into your space and allow your senses full rein. Your home represents who you are. Your home continually reflects back to you your inner being.

Concentrate on surrounding yourself with items that elicit a positive response and that act as an environmental affirmation of uplifting thoughts. Take a visual inventory. As you look around, ask "What makes me feel rich and powerful, loved and joyful? What has 'poor and powerless' written all over it? What holds good memories, what does not?" Keep asking yourself, "Do I love this, and do I really need this?" Everything is "talking" to you all the time. Keep the Ch'i strong and lively in your environment by removing the possessions you don't love and living with the possessions you do. Often we have "all the right things in all the wrong places." Focus on your intention, let the environment be your constant affirmation and watch what happens.

Quantum physics has demonstrated that everything is composed of constantly changing energy. Your home is alive and it is the outer manifestation of your inner energy fields and patterns. There is a direct relationship between what is happening in your inner world and the outer structure of your home. The good news is the reverse is also true: whenever you make changes in the energy field of your living environment, the conditions of your life will change. Using the Bagua (the energetic map of your home) we can focus on making positive changes relating to health concerns. Not only can we reinforce the overall health sector of your home but focus on specific guas (sectors) that relate to a particular illness or discomfort.

TIP: Set a photo of a special moment by your bed so that each morning you are reminded that you are loved by others and by the Universe. Change it periodically.

TIP: Hang a small windchime on the inside of your front door or around the doorknob to welcome in positive ch'i.

Space Clearing
Space Clearing is a specialized branch of Feng Shui which works at deep levels to cleanse and purify the environment to enhance the quality and nature of the energy. Space clearing brings back the sacredness of the environment. Space clearing gives you a sense of belonging, feeling at home and connects with the Guardian Spirit of the land and the area. It is the first step in releasing any negative and stagnant energy contained within the home.

Imagine that Ch'i energy is flowing through your home like water. Are there any places that are so stagnant and congealed that you feel like you're in the middle of a swamp? Or conversely, are there areas that feel like a fast moving whirlpool that are sucking you into a vortex? This trapped or chaotic energy is affecting everything in your life, including your health. Following are two simple actions you can take today to increase the positive energy of your home.

TIP: Vacuum! Stale and negative energy is dense and 'heavy' and literally sinks. For a quick pick-me-up, break up this ground level energy all around your home with this simple act .

TIP: Smudge with sage. Around the world sage is used as a powerful purifier, especially to clear the energy residues left by illness. Today sage bundles, or smudge sticks, are readily available in health food stores and other retail outlets. Light the smudge stick and then extinguish it. The still smoldering herbs will give off their pungent smoke. If the smoke begins to diminish, gently blow on the embers and the smoke will increase. Simply walk through your home and direct the smoke around the perimeter. When you are finished, be sure to extinguish the embers thoroughly. Remember too, never leave a burning smudge stick unattended. Enjoy the light, clear feeling of your environment.

TIP: Don't forget your car! Clean out the old coffee cups, the out-of-date newspapers, the leftovers that are draining your energy on your commute.

We spend a substantial part of our life in our homes — whether they be houses, apartments, or boats. In this era of information overload, we all need that special place where we can drop our cares at the threshold and sink into a sacred space of peace, a sanctuary for optimum health.

Creating a home for health can become a starting place for restored vitality, new journeys, new thoughts and new efforts.
